You'll enjoy the Polar Bear Express, Sarah, it's a marvelous excursion going 'down North'! We made that trip years ago, spent two nights, and remember it fondly and vividly. As I recall, food was very expensive because everything either has to be flown in or comes in by rail, as there are no roads going there. It really is remote. A few recommendations for Moosonee and Moose Factory: for food - order the arctic char - it's amazing; and the most fun thing to do - go on the fossil hunting tour to the island with the Cree guides. (I still have my small collection of trilobytes from our excursion.) This is a great chance to pick up some wonderful native art and handcrafted items. And do pack a heavier weight jacket, it can be quite cold there in August, near freezing at night. Hope you'll see the Northern Lights as we did! Have fun...
