As promised last week, the author survey on advances in the crime fiction world -- be they of first novels or later novels -- is now ready to go. The link will stay up on the right-hand sidebar for the rest of the year, but please spread the word to any writer in the genre who wishes to contribute. I'm aiming to post preliminary results in early April, with periodic updates every few months or so. All information provided will be held in the strictest of confidence and will never be shared with others.
For those with eagle eyes, you'll notice the survey mirrors that designed by Tobias Buckell, and huge thanks to him for his help putting this one together.
Sarah, despite jumping the gun last week, I've just done the survey, though typically, I think I stretched the criteria here and there. I encourage everyone else to do the same - the first thing I learned about publishing folk is that they hate you discussing your advance with other writers!
