I know we all worry about the Crime-Genre in these economically challenging times; but Sarah's mass-links above indicate that the genre is healthy and getting talked about.

Excellent article by Manda Scott. I'm sorry she didn't mention of of the pioneers: Sandra Scoppettone, author of the mystery series featuring Private Eye Lauren Laurano. Sandra's earliest novels were also written with a male pen name...Jack Early. One of these (A Creative Kind of Killer) won the Shamus award. Most of her work stil reads well today.
