MOST WANTED, by Michele Martinez

(originally posted on January 18, 2005)

Damned if I didn't like this book, Martinez's bid to be placed in the prosecutor-lit canon alongside folks like Linda Fairstein. Melanie Vargas is an ambitious Federal prosecutor juggling the demands of a new baby and a cheating husband when a high ranking superior is murdered and suddenly her world is complicated by psycho drug dealers and a possible love interest. It's breezy and fun but the pace keeps picking up and the action keeps moving. Some first novel blues, but I'll definitely read Melanie's next adventure.
